Plan where fat is removed and where it goes back
A proportionate face usually needs both.
Your surgeon separates whether facial fullness comes from superficial fat, the buccal fat pad, a thick masseter muscle, or the bone itself — liposuction only addresses the first two.
At the same time, areas short of volume are mapped: temples, under-eye, mid-cheek. Reduction alone in someone already losing volume with age tends to look gaunt rather than slimmer.
Pre-operative assessment is a planning aid. It illustrates an expected direction, not a guaranteed outcome.
What is facial liposuction?
Facial liposuction removes excess fat under the chin, cheeks, and neck through tiny incisions to refine the jawline and facial contour.
It can be combined with autologous fat transfer to add volume where it's hollow — cheeks, temples, or under-eyes — balancing and rejuvenating the face in one session.

What is reduced and what is restored
Each area needs a different method — and some areas should not be reduced at all.
Submental & jawline liposuction
Superficial fat under the chin and along the jaw is suctioned through small incisions under the chin and behind the ear.
Benefits: Defines the chin-neck angle and sharpens the jawline as soon as swelling settles.
Suitable for: Fat accumulation under the chin with skin that still retracts well.
Buccal fat reduction
Part of the buccal fat pad is removed through an incision inside the mouth, hollowing the lower mid-cheek.
Benefits: Reduces fullness in a specific place that superficial liposuction cannot reach.
Suitable for: Noticeably full cheeks at a younger age — with a clear caution about how it reads as you age.
Fat transfer back
Harvested fat is processed and layered into the temples, under-eye or mid-cheek.
Benefits: Restores volume where it is missing, so the overall result reads as refined rather than gaunt.
Suitable for: Early volume loss at the temples or midface alongside excess fat elsewhere.
