Sleep Test and Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) in Bangkok, Thailand
Diagnose First, Treat Precisely: An Image-Guided Program for Sleep and Stress
The sleep medicine program at YOUNIFY Clinic in Bangkok begins with a home sleep test to find what is disrupting your sleep, including sleep apnea. For selected patients whose sleep is disrupted by an overactive stress response, a stellate ganglion block (SGB) is offered from THB 35,000: ultrasound-guided, needle-only, by board-certified anesthesiologists, same-day discharge, 3 to 5 day stay.

About this program
Poor sleep has many different causes: sleep apnea, hormonal and metabolic factors, medication effects, and an overactive sympathetic nervous system, the "fight-or-flight" state that can remain switched on after prolonged stress. Treating sleep without first finding the cause is guesswork, which is why our program begins with a physician-led evaluation and a home sleep test before any treatment is offered.
For carefully selected patients whose sleep and daily calm are disrupted by sympathetic overactivity, we offer the stellate ganglion block (SGB): an ultrasound-guided, needle-only procedure in which a small amount of local anesthetic is placed around the stellate ganglion, a bundle of sympathetic nerves at the base of the neck. SGB has been used in pain medicine for decades, and more recently it has been studied as a supportive option for symptoms linked to sympathetic overactivity, including disturbed sleep and hypervigilance. Research in these newer applications is still emerging, which is exactly why the program begins with a medical evaluation rather than a booking form.

What Results Can the Sleep Program Help Achieve?
- A clear answer on what is actually disrupting your sleep
- Sleep apnea identified, or ruled out, before any treatment
- In selected patients, SGB may support a calmer baseline and less disrupted sleep
- A needle-only procedure of under 30 minutes with same-day discharge
- Sleep evaluated alongside hormonal, metabolic, and stress physiology, not in isolation
SGB is not a treatment for every sleep problem, and it is not a substitute for the treatment of diagnosed sleep disorders or mental-health conditions. Responses vary between individuals.
