Breast Augmentation in Thailand: A Realistic Recovery Timeline (and What It Costs)
Breast augmentation in Thailand starts from ฿132,000 at YOUNIFY Clinic in Bangkok, and for most patients the recovery follows a predictable arc: light desk work within about a week, full exercise at 4-6 weeks. If you are flying in for surgery, the timeline matters more than the price - here is what each stage actually looks like.
Week-by-week recovery
First 24-72 hours - the tightest, most uncomfortable stretch, especially with implants placed under the muscle. Pain is managed with prescribed medication for most patients; many go home the same day or after one night of observation, at the surgeon's discretion.
Days 3-7 - discomfort eases noticeably. Most desk-based work is manageable by the end of the first week. No heavy lifting or raising arms overhead.
Weeks 2-4 - swelling settles progressively; driving and daily routines resume. A support bra is worn as directed. Still no high-impact exercise or chest-loading workouts.
Weeks 4-6 - most patients are cleared for near-normal exercise at follow-up.
Months 2-3 and beyond - implants settle into a more natural position and scars continue fading over 6-12 months. Every stage varies between individuals.

Planning your trip to Bangkok
For international patients, we generally suggest staying in Bangkok around 7-10 days so your first follow-up happens before you fly. Long-haul flights in the first days after surgery are not recommended; your surgeon will confirm when flying is reasonable for your case. YOUNIFY Clinic is in Silom, five minutes' walk from BTS Sala Daeng, with follow-up available by WhatsApp after you return home.
Risks worth understanding
Breast augmentation is major surgery under general anesthesia. Risks include infection, haematoma, changes in nipple sensation, asymmetry, capsular contracture (scar tissue tightening around the implant), and implant rupture over time. A rare lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) has been reported in association with certain textured implants - it is very uncommon, and worth discussing with your surgeon. Implants do not need replacing on a fixed schedule if there are no problems, but they are not lifetime devices and rupture can be silent - long-term follow-up with periodic imaging as your doctor advises matters, and always tell mammogram staff you have implants.
